Flashback: Vogue Italia 1990

20 years ago, this photoshoot of Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington Appeared in Vogue Italia's July 1990 issue. As two of my alltime favorite models, Ellen von unwerth's pictures from "The Sisters" are amazing, and show that they still look just as beautiful today as they did back then.

Stop, Onesie time!

A reoccurring trend in pretty much every store this spring, such as urban outfitters, american eagle (where the above picture is from), and forever 21, is the romper. Whether its made out of seersucker, chambray, silk, or simply cotton it's the mature version of overalls without making you look like a lesbo. Definitely approved by me, i totess think this trend should be embraced to the maxxxxx, especially layered under a cardigan, cinched with a fabulous belt, and rockinn with some flyy sandals. feel it, embrace it, love it.

Purrrrrfect - The New Cat Woman

she puts the cat in catnip.

A Boston Original: Bria Riddick

Always fabulous, always edgy, always herself. Bria alwas looks stunning no matter the occasion, pulling together ensembles that would normally look way too hardcore for anyone else. Able to pull off pretty much anything, such as a cardigan made up of t shirts, she definitely is one of the best dressed people i know. Never a follower, always a trendsetter, Bria delivers every day at school and puts everyone in their sweatpants and pajamas to shame, showcasing that it doesn't take madd bills$zs$z to make yourself look amazing. Doing what she does best, aka being fabulous, Bria shows everyone how it's done.

This Is For You, Monet

Flipping through the pages of my GQ, i paused when i saw an ad for Victorianox. the guy posing in the ugly red jacket was weirdly good looking, and pretty fresh. I had seen him before in Rugby ads both in their newsletter and on their website, and so i decided to investigate further as to who he was. Well, this is what i found out: His name is simon nessman, and he's from canada, so he speaks french and english. He was discovered when he was 18 when his friends sister sent in pictures of him to a modeling agency in new york 3 years ago, and he's been hot shit ever since, walking the runways for marc jacobs and ralph lauren, as well as posing in ads for givenchy and versace. Known for his lips and his hair, he's quite cool. obsess if you want.

Urban Gem

On the first friday in February, zoe swartz took me with her to open studios in the south end. There, we stumbled into an amazing vintage store called Bobby From Boston, where it just so happened zoe's mom used to be a camp counselor with the owner, Bobby. The place was absolutely AMAZING - a mix of everything from the late 19th century all the way to the 80s, while the store itself looked like a mix of ralph lauren, rugby, and brooks brothers rolled into one. Bobby, who scours estate and yard sales for these treasures, is actually one of the top suppliers for period film costumes in Hollywood, and from the looks of his store, it was easy to see. It had anything you could think of - mens cricket jackets from the 20s, womens dresses from the 40s, and shelves and shelves of shoes, for both men and women, ranging from riding boots from the 1910's to 70's converse sneakers. It blew both of our minds. What made the experience even better was that because he saw how amazed we were, he invited us to go shop at his private warehouse, where he keeps most of his merchandise. We didnt even hesitate to answer YES, and her mom made all the arrangements.
Last friday, when we had no school, we travelled to the secret location of the warehouse, where it requires a private appointment as well as an invitation by bobby himself to go to. Feeling like vips and uber cool shoppers, we climbed the stairs and found ourselves transported back in time with all of what we saw. The mens side of the warehouse was HUGE, and contained everything from WWI and II army uniforms, 1940's loungewear, 50's suits, and barrels and barrels full of vintage belts. With all of this spanning countless racks, i spent the better part of three hours just looking at everything, never mind actually picking stuff out. By the time i found the perfect piece to claim as my own (a vintage cream button crew-neck sweater from the 40s for 20$) i had been dumbfounded by everything. It was just too much to handle. Making my way over to the womans side to visit zoe, i saw shocked at what i saw - everything was arranged by decade - there were original flapper dresses (a fabulous one in a dusty green), 50s day suits, 60s evening sheath dresses, and 80s levi jeans. It was amazing, seeing vintage hats, gloves, shoes, gowns, and basically anything you could imagine. When zoe settled on a 50's boys levis denim jacket for 45$, we realized there was so much it was ridiculous. Thoroughly enjoying our afternoon, we were pleased with our purchases and agreed on one thing - we definitely want to go back.

Daily Steal: AE Boyfriend Blazer

I love Blazers on girls. It's that simple. The juxtaposition of masculine on feminine, a woman casually chic in menswear. It's always a nice way to dress up an outfit, whether it's with shorts, a nice sundress, jeans, a skirt, you name it. A blazer is a wardrobe staple every girl should have, and american eagle has rolled out the big guns with this piece from their summer line. This new blazer is the perfect balance of masculine tailoring with feminine details, from the gorgeous coral and navy blue striped pattern, plus the hip pockets, mother-of-pearl buttons, and classic fit. If you want to update your spring wardrobe, this piece is perfect. While it may not be a steal at $50 per say, its definitely not a splurge, and it should be something taken seriously into consideration if you want to look oh so fabooshhhhhhhh. loves it sososososo much. buy it. now.

American Eagle Outfitters Boyrfiend Striped Blazer - $49.99. Available in Sizes XS to XXL at AE.xom and American Eagle stores nationwide.
